Decorate a super-sized Snoopy sculpture to help the hounds this half term

Dogs Trust is calling on Snoopy fans and dog lovers in Cardiff to lend a paw this half term and help paint a super-sized Snoopy sculpture which will eventually be a part of the A Dogs Trail with Snoopy art event in the Welsh capital next Spring.

A giant Snoopy sculpture, designed by a student from the University of South Wales, will be on display on the grounds of Cardiff Castle from Tuesday 1st– Friday 4th June.  Members of the public are being called upon to bring the student’s design to life by painting a section of the Snoopy sculpture using acrylic paint pens.

Members of the public wanting to get involved will be able to book a 10-minute slot here. Slots are £5 per slot for groups of a maximum of six people, adhering to current social distancing guidelines. For any under 7’s in a group there will be a smaller Snoopy sculpture that they can lend a paw print to.

Dogs Trust has teamed up with Wild in Art and in collaboration with Peanuts to bring this exciting new art trail to South Wales in Spring 2022, featuring the world-famous beagle, Snoopy. The dog-friendly trail aims to raise awareness and funds for the Dogs Trust – which will soon be opening a brand new rehoming centre in Cardiff – and is a collaborative mass participation event, generating a social, wellbeing and economic boost for the towns, cities and communities involved.

A Dog’s Trail with Snoopy, will last for 10 weeks from 25th March – 5th June 2022 and will feature around 50 unique and colourful Snoopy sculptures designed by South Wales-based and national artists. The trail has also been extended to nearby towns of Caerphilly and Porthcawl encouraging visitors to the trail to discover more stunning parts of the region.
